Adirondack News Clips
In order for the Adirondack Council staff to be the best possible advocates for the Adirondack Park, we have to stay on top of the latest news, trends, and happenings that could impact the woods, waters, wildlife, or communities of the Adirondack Park.
1. What
Each week, Adirondack Council staff gather news clips concerning the Adirondacks, New York, conservation, wildlife, and other related topics. These news stories come from outlets all across the country, with no local, regional, political, or organizational bias. You can read what the Council staff is reading and stay up to date on the most important issues facing the Adirondack Park.
2. When
Adirondack News Clips will be delivered to your inbox once a week. That being said, during certain times of the year - like state budget season in the spring - we may see so many news items that the Clips email will come twice in a week, but that will be rare.
3. How
The Adirondack Council staff uses a number of ways to compile news clips from around the state, country, and even world. First, our staff are avid readers and articles frequently get shared amongst ourselves first. Second, we use an app called Meltwater to scour the internet for any and all Adirondack-related content. And lastly, we check local news outlets on a daily basis. This means that the news clips do not all come from one source, but from dozens of trusted outlets.
4. Why
The Adirondack Council staff relies on the latest and finest science, management, and news to make decisions about how best to protect the Adirondack Forest Preserve while also supporting the people and communities that make the Adirondack Park such a unique national treasure. We also want our supporters, members, and people who love the Adirondack Park to be well-informed so that the Park can be loved by future generations as well.
